Penn State Food Services has announced that it will not serve meat derived from cloned animals even if they are approved by the FDA

Penn State Food Services has announced that it will not serve meat derived from cloned animals, reports the Daily Collegian. The FDA is reviewing public comments before issuing a final ruling on the matter but a preliminary safety risk assessment it released last year stated that meat from cloned cattle, pigs and goats is safe to eat. PSU Food Services does not plan to use cloned meat, even if it’s approved by the FDA, Lisa Wandel, associate director of food services, told the Collegian.
