Pat Higgins, director of dining services at the University of Maryland, will be retiring at the end of the school year

Pat Higgins, director of dining services at the University of Maryland, will be retiring at the end of the school year, capping a 46-year career at Maryland, the last dozen as director. She began as an entry-level dining services manager after graduating from the university with a degree in dietetics and a short stint with Stouffer’s Foods.
