Former Morrison Management Specialists President/CEO Glenn Davenport has been named president of software/technology services firm Horizon Software International, LLC. Davenport, who will also serve on Horizon’s board of directors, recently retired from Morrison after more than 33 years in the onsite foodservice industry. Beginning as a management trainee in a storeroom of a Morrison Management Specialist account, he worked his way up the organization. In 1994, he was named president of the healthcare division of Morrison’s Restaurants, which provided foodservice to hospitals. It was eventually taken public as a separate corporation, with Davenport serving as chairman and CEO. In 2001, he led the sale of the company to Compass Group, continuing to serve as its CEO after the merger as it grew to top the billion dollars in annual sales mark. He won the Silver Plate Award for Healthcare Food Service in 2000.
