The California Assembly banned the sale of soda and other sweetened beverages in high schools. This came on the heels of a bill that bans "junk food" sales in California schools.

Chartwells School Dining Services introduced nutrition standards, called Balanced Choices, for its schools that exceed guidelines set by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
ARAMARK has announced FUEL, a communication campaign to increase nutritional awareness for "tweens" (grades 6-8) and teens (grades 9-12) during the 2005-2006 school year. In addition, Aramark was awarded the contract to provide foodservices to the School District of Philadelphia.
Sodexho USA's Health Care Services Division was selected as the preferred provider by Catholic Health East for nutrition and environmental services.
ARAMARK announced the integration of its Harrison Lodging unit with its Parks and Resorts business. The new division will be called Aramark Harrison Lodging.
