He was not the founder. William Maahs Senior, William Maahs Jr., Eugene Maahs, and Werner H. Maahs all contributed greatly to Alto-Shaam's success. William Maahs senior developed the oven. He was Jerry's dad.

Jerry Maahs is not the founder. His dad William Maahs Senior was. His brothers Werner, Eugene and William Maahs Jr. and sister Donna contributed greatly to Alto-Shaams success.
